My only memory of recording this composition is one vivid moment of being in my old house. I was playing the violin in my family's small sun room, with the cacti as my audience. I improvised the piece part by part, recording myself five times, each performance reacting to whatever decisions I made in the previous one. I don't remember what inspired me to start. I don't recall how long it took. I don't even know where the name came to me from. I just see myself in that one moment of playing violin in the sun room, back in 2012.
